SING-a-POOR Idol?

Yeah, Singapore Idol has been really interesting. Not that many good singers. I think Hady and Jonathan Leong are the best contenders. Superb performer Paul Twohill should form a rock band, so that the music from distorted guitars can cover his lack of quality in singing. Don't know about Jasmine, but Joakim definitely can't sing.

There has been much hoo-haa about who should be in the competition and who should be out. I wanna say that everyone (hosts, judges, "real" music fans..) should just stop pleading "Singapore, please vote for talent.. Singapore, please don't make mistakes.. Singapore, please vote for the right one.." (sounds like some election sia..)

Despite them not being able to sing very well, I still feel that whoever wins deserves to win. I mean, Singapore Idol is a popularity contest. Fans who are mad enough to vote thousands of times for Joakim "I can't sing, but I'm cute" Gomez will still buy his CD if he wins the competition (even if he still can't sing). And even if they don't buy his CD, Singaporeans are the ones who decided with their money to vote for him to be the "Singapore Idol" (not necessarily, the best singer/performer/whatever).

Judges are quite right in their opinions about the contestants, but please stop telling us who to vote for. Can't we even make a choice of our own these days? Are we kids who need to be told who to vote for (even though most of the voters are probably kids who need consent from their parents to vote)? Well, if Joakim does win, I will doubt the maturity of the voters, but yeah.. if they like him for his looks, then so be it. After all, there are loads of talent-less celebs who do well in the show biz just because of their looks.

Well, I guess our society is still not quite first-world yet. We still need adults to tell us what to do. Don't see that in other countries, do we?

un-simple life

work is becoming complicated. young adults start to confuse me with both their words and actions. "keep it simple man!" as my football coach used to instruct us about balls playing. but playing balls is much easier than living the life.

things get complicated when you wanna be home quick and be cheap. you think taking the taxi is the fastest way, but it'll cost you a bit. but then, taking the bus sucks because there's no seat available. so you think, take the cab. when you've decided to do so, the taxis disappear. you end up waiting for more than 15 minutes and you see your bus going by. you regret not taking the bus, reaching home maybe earlier and definitely cheaper.

sian..

Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
*by bus/taxi/mrt/car when i get my licence*
