end of another year in london

time has come for us to leave london and go back to where we belong.

time flies really fast. too fast.

my post-exam period has been quite fulfilling. filled with a lot of activities.. world cup, project, world cup, concerts, world cup, packing and more world cup. finally entered the knockout stage and its starting to look good. argentina and mexico played a fantastic game while portugal and holland provided us with all the talking points we needed. well, england is still the poor england and let's hope they get better.

leaving kenway soon and returning to kenway next year. will be leaving some friends behind. marvin especially. what a year we had. its never a good feeling to part with friends, but well, everything comes to an end huh.

foo fighters n summer ball

my very own musik festival has ended. missed juliette and the licks (whoever they are), caught angels and airwaves again, queens of the stone age, motorhead and of course foo fighters today.

reached hyde park at 4pm. 85000 people. 5 bands. 6 of us. went with greg and a few of his friends. i didn't enjoy it that much. still its a great experience. dave grohl knows how to work the crowd. but personally, i think the speakers were too soft. the music was too soft to keep us dancing throughout.

enough about rock n roll and gigs.

summer ball! decided to go there in the last minute. or rather, suzi decided for me. after the concert, i rushed down to school to join her. in my shorts and t-shirt! the rest of the peeps were all in suits and dresses man! still it was better than expected. loads of stuff going on. a few dance floors. some amusement rides. chocolate fountain. oriental breakdancers. slutty white dancers. a mock casino. many many non-singaporean friends.

i got to know 2 dudes. yeah. no babes. 2 dudes. 1 of whom chatted to me randomly. sounded like he was trying to hit on me. the other was a friend's bf. won't get to see some friends next year since they'll be graduating. oh, and there weren't many singaporeans. just a few here and there. guess the ball's a tad too expensive and unattractive for most sgs. well, an experience again. won't get to go for any more school/college balls in the future.

busy week ahead!

zuton fever

going music and footy mad this week.

just watched the zutons in concert. totally british. absolutely fabulous.

the lads and a girl from liverpool were impressive.

not often do you get a full crowd in apollo hammersmith.

and not often do you get fans in the seating area standing up throughout the concert. but the zutons did it.

for once, the seated fans didn't lose out on the atmosphere. the concert seemed too short in fact.

anyway, i'm all psyched up for tomorrow's concert at hyde park!

on another note, i missed two of the best games today. argentina's demolition of serbia. and holland's narrow win over ivory coast. dammit. but nevermind, saw the 24 passes goal by cambiasso.

angels and airwaves

well well..

i'm finally back. back with angels and airwaves.

it was great watching a live band. more so when it's a rock band. after being disappointed by blink182 the last time round, i was expecting better of tom delonge at astoria. and he did ok. his new band of former distillers, offspring and boxcar racer members did ok. angels and airwaves will be on my gym playlist for some time.

i enjoyed the gig almost as much as sum41. if only we were standing amongst the crowd instead of being on the upper floor.

there will be more gigging. next up are the zutons at hammersmith apollo on friday. and then foo fighters at hyde park on saturday. money well spent i hope. gotta enjoy the brit music scene before going back to singapore. this is one enjoyable thing that london can provide me with... other than football.
