argh.. the exams are coming.. and a scam!
ok, what a lame title. but anyway, did a bit more studying this weekend. i've been on the same module for the past 5 days. yeh, freakin inefficient. the past few days, i've been studying with lim. we went to comp lab once, next day went to the tesco cafe. so we came to a conclusion that guys are generally more restless. we could never garner the concentration that our female counterparts have. the way they could sit there and study for more than an hour (or so we thought), we can only muster a maximum of 45 min before needing a break. that explains why we're so slow in revising, why i'm just about to complete one out of 11 papers i'm revising for.
exams blues aside, lim had some silly problems this morning. he wanted to subscribe to some video streaming thingy on the web. nope, not adult content ones. ok, at least he didn't say it was for that. he told me he wanted to watch football, not porn. so what happened was, he told me about this website www.watchskyonline.com. 5 pounds a month! and you get to have access to 200 over channels. sounds to good to be true. but anyway, i didn't really dissuade him from joining it, since he was so excited about it. in the end, it turned out to be a semi-scam.
firstly, it is a scam la. they charged 5 pounds, giving him a list of links in the form of a pdf!? these links include www.mtv.com and www.bloomberg.com.. the kind where you kind easily find by searching on the web. so these supposed 200 "channels" come in the form of websites that provide free video streaming. so he got conned. oh, so why is it a semi-scam? cos he kao bei them twice by sending emails to them, telling them he's not satisfied with the whole thing. they refunded him. so he didn't say they were a load of scams. ok, i don't know if i'm allowed to tell you how stupid he was by joining that thing. but yup, that's the most interesting thing that happened to someone i know for the weekend.
oh, one more thing. my contact lenses are running out. i'm on monthly. so i told my mom i needed some. and that's why i'm blogging it... MARVIN! if you're reading this, i need you to meet my mom to get them for me! thanks mate! so expect me to contact you soon. i'm just a bit too lazy to write you an email. haha, the advantage of blogging..
