discussions about religion..
woah! what a topic to talk about. nah, not gonna dwell on it, but marvin, kai and i had a long discussion about religions last night/this morning. realised that i haven't forgotten a lot of stuff about christianity which used to be/is/was my faith. as most know, i'm a believer, but not really a follower. i believe in God, but i don't exactly follow God. ok, more on that some other time. anyway, had a good discussion with kai about christians, catholics, etc. we just kept talking and talking until we realised suzi (who was on skype) fell asleep and that it was almost 4am!
anyhow, brought back memories of the last summer i spent in singapore before i came to london for the first time. i remember vividly the stories of zimin, fernn and then yanjie. all pretty amazing. all remain good friends of mine, though i've not spoken to them for a long time. our faith was a common thing we shared. obviously, we've all taken quite different routes with regards to that. well.. told suzi that we'll go to htb when she comes to london the next time round. and when she comes to s'pore, i'll bring her to have a look at hopesingapore.
enough about religion, let's talk about something probably more important to many. champions league football. this week's football has been amazing. first you had henry and fabregas demolishing madrid on tues evening. then you had messi and ronaldinho strutting their stuff at chelsea. simply love it when chelsea gets beaten. more so when you see an 18 year old do stuff that you've rarely seen. after learning spanish, i've had a stronger interest in la liga teams in general. at least, i can pronounce their names more correctly than a certain david pleat on itv. but most importantly, i think there'll be great times ahead for football lovers as we can watch lionel messi develop into a player worthy of being called the next maradona. hopefully.
