school's starting!
i've always felt a tinge of excitement and anticipation when school's about to start. even when i was young at a boys school (no new hot girls to check out..), i looked forward to the start of school. it was only last year when i didn't feel this way. first year in uni, still new, still a fresher. thought uk uni life would be happening la. but no..! all i remembered was lectures and labs. ok, it was still fun in different ways, but i didn't look forward to second year after that. second year, i knew our workload was shit. i knew we had tonnes of lab and reports and stuff.
this year, sin embargo, it's different. we have fewer lectures. more time at home like our pure sciences counterparts. it'll be good i hope. only thing that spoils it, is our early exams in april. nonetheless, i've been waiting for that first lecture. to see if i will stay awake throughout. i'll be proud of myself if i managed to. hence, after blogging, i shall go to sleep. early.
prior to this week, i had been in valencia spending time with suzi. it was fun. it was an eye opener. i knew more non-singaporeans properly than my first two years in imperial. there are hardly any singaporean there when i was there. no singsoc in university of valencia. it was great. great to experience proper overseas studying. i didn't study of cos. all i did was walk around the valencian streets. checked out her uni. hanged out with suzi's new found italian, finnish friends. real good experience to know people from other countries. eating good food. spending time with her.
my spanish has also been rid of its rust. after last year's exams, i stopped using it until valencia. i had to speak a little here and there. i brought my self study spanish book to brush up my espanol. had opportunities to speak to real spaniards. and i even got to talk to a random old spanish man in the plaza.
anyway, it was great that suzi had stuff planned for me. like the once-a-year bullfight that we went, held in a small town called algemeis, south of valencia. all in all, good. haha. seems like i can't get enough of the place huh. actually, it's enough. the small city. but of cos, i'll be back for suzi.
okay. that's my short update for you people... adios y hasta luego!
